Factory Droid CLI (experimental)

Happier runs your locally installed Factory Droid CLI through droid exec --output-format acp. The ordinary droid command remains the interactive terminal surface.

What you need first

Install Droid with the official Factory guide. Then start droid on the machine where Happier runs and complete the browser login flow when prompted. You can instead provide FACTORY_API_KEY in the runtime environment.

Start and resume sessions

Happier supports fresh and resumed sessions, cancellation, execution runs, MCP tools, and the models, reasoning choices, and autonomy modes Droid advertises through ACP. Happier does not copy a static model list or guess a mode that the running Droid version did not advertise.

When it goes wrong

• Run droid --version in the same environment as the Happier daemon.
• Reopen droid to repair browser login, or verify FACTORY_API_KEY is present.
• If a model or reasoning choice is missing, confirm that Droid advertises it to ACP.
